I believe the teams that build the best products never stop asking why. Three principles I've carried through 20+ years of product work — and that hold especially true in the age of AI.
The Best AI Can't Fix the Wrong Problem
I start with research, journey sensemaking, and jobs-to-be-done — because AI makes it faster and cheaper to build the wrong thing at scale. Getting the problem right before touching a solution is the highest-leverage move on any product team.

I run workshops and prototype-driven rituals that turn competing priorities into shared decisions, MVP scope, and roadmaps teams can actually execute. The fastest path to clarity isn't a meeting — it's something people can react to.

Transforming At-Home Oral Health
Problem: A new at-home saliva test needed a clear MVP and an app experience that builds confidence in sampling and results.
What I led: Executive alignment + prototype-first discovery to define workflow-driven mobile flows and guided computer vision capture.
Outcome: Pilot-ready end-to-end experience that reduced user error and accelerated investor and clinical validation conversations.

Generative AI for Teaching & Learning
Problem: Schools needed GenAI that fits real educator workflows, without “generic chatbot” adoption issues or safety risk.
What I led: Designed workflow-native tools (lesson planning, feedback, IEP support) plus a student StudyBuddy, with guardrails from day one.
Outcome: District-validated prototypes that embedded day-one educator value with privacy, transparency, and human-in-the-loop trust built in from the start — designed for real adoption, not novelty.

Elevating Experience at a 5M+ Member Health Plan
Problem: Fragmented touchpoints and slow release cycles made it hard to deliver an "easiest healthcare experience — everywhere, every time" for its members.
What I led: Established a journey-led Design Center — leading product vision and design for cost/Rx transparency tools, a modernized mobile roadmap, and an accessibility-compliant design system.
Outcome: +54% engagement; +25% user satisfaction; +50% mobile use in 6 months; +37% annual health assessment completion; 4.5★ iOS app experience; Rx cost tool delivered high value (63% “most important” / 81% satisfaction)

Case Study: Human-in-the-Loop ML
Human-Centered Workflows Improve AI/ML Fraud Mitigation
Problem: A community college system with 100+ colleges needed a faster, more trusted way to triage suspicious applications.
What I led: Redesigned analyst-first workflows and shaped a two-tiered roadmap that strengthened the UI→ML feedback loop — improving both human decision confidence and model accuracy over time.
Outcome: A validated, modernized triage experience that improves analyst speed and decision confidence while feeding better signal back to the model.
